The Saint Sarkis Charity Trust was founded in 1954 by Calouste
Sarkis Gulbenkian primarily to provide financial support for the Armenian
Church of Saint Sarkis in London and for the Gulbenkian
Library at the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem. It became a UK-registered
charity in 1963.
The Trust continues to support the Church of Saint Sarkis and the Gulbenkian Library. In addition, grants are given to charities concerned with the Armenian Community in the UK and abroad. To the extent that funds are available, the Trust also gives grants to UK-registered charities developing innovative projects to support prisoners in the UK and their families.
